The company was founded in Woodlawn, MD.

2006

MEC2 is awarded the first of 12 “Excellence in Construction” Awards for Hunt Valley One.

MEC2 Designs and builds the first VRV/VRF system in the state of Maryland.

2007

MEC2 expands and opens a new Northern Virginia office.

2008

MEC2 grows to over 180 full-time employees.

2009

MEC2 is recognized with its 1st of 8 awards for “Excellence in Safety.”

MEC2 designed and built the first LEED Platinum building in Baltimore County, MD.

2012

MEC2‘s design/build VRF project, Towson City Center, is recognized with an “Excellence in Construction Award” and becomes part of Mitsubishi Electrics national advertising campaign.

2013

A new 65,000 sq. ft headquarters facility is acquired in Catonsville, MD.

2014

MEC2 awarded the Associated Builders and Contractor’s “Project of the Year” award for St Paul’s Ward Center Project.

2015

MEC2 is the recipient of the “National Diversity Excellence Award” for hiring and retention practices — one of only four companies in the US to be so honored.

2016

MEC2 is awarded the Associated Builders and Contractor’s “Project of the Year” award for Loyola Campion Tower Project.

2017

The company expands and relocates our Northern Virginia office.

2018

MEC2 opens a new central delivery facility in Beltsville, MD.
